Through this project, a method for sustainability assessment of products has been developed, particularly tailored for young people and teenagers. Young people may be influenced by the products’ features (price, functionality, design or image) in their purchase decisions. Sustainability issues are hardly considered. To raise awareness and provide information, a platform for sustainability assessment of products has been developed, where consumers themselves have the possibility to evaluate and compare products as to their sustainability performance.
The theoretical basis of the assessment method has been used for developing criteria for a sustainability label.
The project is funded by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science and Research in the scope of the Sparkling Science research program.
